The name White Lightning has a double meaning. A nod to a the Prohibition-era lingo, “white lightning” referred to whiskey that was brewing illegally at home.

The other meaning is more personal to Jen + Maggie. White Lightning was the playful nickname for Jen’s paternal grandfather, Thomas Henderson. He was a distinguished white-haired man for most of his life and moved like molasses.

Jen has been in the retail management since 2005. In the course of her career, she has worked for Pita Pit, Starbucks, Alter Brewing Company, and Apple, Inc. Jen is a Certified Cicerone Level 1 Beer Server—a designation that denotes the holder has a professional body of knowledge and essential serving, storing and tasting beer. Jen achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations with a minor in Advertising from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington.

Maggie has made a career out of hospitality. She has spent her career working in fast-paced retail environments—In ’n’ Out, Starbucks, Good Dog Daycare and JM Cellars. Maggie is also a certified Massage Therapist and runs her own practice in Seattle. A natural listener with the ability to build rapport instantly, Maggie understands hospitality, customer focus and running a business at a high level.
